This was my other favorite TV show besides Starsky and Hutch. When I was a little kid back in the late 70's, I always looked forward to Friday nights when this came on. I totally idolized Bill Bixby, and I still do. I was introduced to this show in late 78. My parents had just divorced, and a new man, whom I didn't want, came onto the scene. Watching the Incredible Hulk was indeed an escape, as I wished that Bill Bixby was my dad. Not only did I love Bixby, but being an impressionable 6-year old at the time, I thought it was sooo cool how he could turn into the green giant whenever somebody pissed him off. I just loved how David Banner's eyes would dilate with the simultaneous, jolting sound that signaled the onset of the metamorphasis . His clothes would rip off and then he'd teach his respective antagonists a thing or two. Yes, it would've been cool to have Bill Bixby as a father figure. He was a genuinely gracious, down-to-earth, nice man who always gave of himself. I envy Brandon Cruz, as Bill was as much a dad to him off the set of "Courtship of Eddie's Father", as he was on it. Wilfred Bailey Bixby left us way too soon. I'll always miss him.
P.S. God, don't make him angry! You wouldn't like him when he's angry! Speaking of which, Jack Colvin (Mr. McGee, whom David Banner said this to) passed on recently as well......only Lou Ferrigno remains.
