This story is dedicated to my awesome friend Sanda who was so nice to encourage me to post it here. I hope you like it
Daphne Moon had it all- a job she loved, friends she adored, a family, while annoying, she knew she could count on- well most of the time anyways. She threw her heart and soul into her work as a physical therapist, and had come to think of Dr. Crane, Mr. Crane, and the other Dr. Crane as family. Whenever she had a problem she knew she could turn to them, especially the younger Dr. Crane. He was so kind and considerate, he was always willing to lend her an ear should the need arise. She knew she was blessed, indeed.
But she did have one small complaint. Her love life hadn’t been what she would like it to have been, and for that she blamed herself. Maybe she was trying too hard, maybe she didn’t get out often enough, but she’d been dangerously celibate for so long she was beginning to forget what intimacy felt like. Part of her felt ashamed for thinking such thoughts, but she was young, she had her whole life ahead of her. Was it so bad for her to wish she had someone to share it with?
One day she was browsing the web on her laptop that Dr. Crane had bought her, when suddenly a giant pop-up ad appeared. Oh, they were so annoying. She wished she could do something about it. But this one caught her eye. It was for Single In Seattle, a dating web site. She laughed. What kind of people did this sort of thing? Suddenly curiosity got the best of her and she clicked on it.
The first thing she did was browse the men seeking women ads. There were so many good looking men; Daphne figured the whole thing had to be a set up. If they were that good looking what could they possibly want to do with a singles site? Then again, she was single too, so there went that theory.
Some of these were pretty funny. Some of these men wanted out and out sex, something that made her laugh. Imagine, her advertising her business to a world of complete strangers?! Why she could go to her local pub if that was all she was after. She continued to browse, until she found the section of men without pictures.
What was the point of looking at those, she wondered. They could advertise to be the perfect man, but turn out to look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. She was about to close out her computer when one ad caught her eye.
Do you believe in true love?
I do. I have felt it from the first time I laid eyes upon her. She was a mystery, a beauty like I’ve never known. She was a goddess, simply a sight to behold. But alas, fate has intervened and we are destined to be nothing more than friends. I will not, can not, stop looking until I find my soul mate. Love conquers all, so it has been said; I believe in that wholeheartedly, and if you do too, maybe we can talk.
She read it again and again until her eyes began to blur. She couldn’t believe what she had just read! This man surely believed in true love, as she did, and he must be able to offer a lot in order to love a woman the way he once had. She didn’t know what had come over her, but after a few simple steps, Daphne found herself responding to the mysterious broken-hearted stranger.
Hello there! I must admit that I have never thought about doing something like this before, but I admit that your ad caught me eye. I don’t know you, but I can understand completely your beliefs in true love. I thought that I was the only person alive who thought about such things. Maybe me friends might think I’m crazy, but I would like to know more about you.

Before Daphne could second guess her decision, she hit the send button, and little did she know what fate would have in store for her.
