Moving on, or trying to at least

A short story with John Ross, and others. I know John Ross was not living at Southfork at the end of Season 1, but in my story he is living there, and so is JR.

A Broken heart

John Ross has been focused on his job , and not really having a personal life, but it has been weeks since his break up with Elena. He was still hurt, angry, and a little jealous that he lost her, and now Christopher is living with her. He has to see them together everyday, and it was starting to get to him. He was not going to leave Southfork, and he wasn't going to sit back, and let life go by, and worry about what he lost, and not go for something better in life, so he decided to call Emma a girl he knew since high school, she calls him every week, and he always has an excuse why he couldn't take her out. It was going to end tonight he was going to take her to Southfork, and have dinner with her , and the family, and after they could go for a swim, and maybe after he would go back to her place, or she could spend the night. He called her up hoping she would be available tonight, and he was surprised she answered, and agreed to meet him at Southfork at 7. John Ross called home getting Ann, and told her he was going to be home for dinner, and he was bringing a friend. She said she would love that, and see him than. John Ross finished up at work, it was hard seeing Elena, and Christopher everyday, but he was getting use to it. It bothered him when they would laugh, and fool around , and he could hear from his office. He left work without even telling them he was leaving, and drove home. He ran upstairs showering, and changed, and came downstairs, and went outside waiting for Emma to show up.

John Ross saw Christopher's car drive up, and Elena was with him. She walked over to John Ross, and smiled.

"You left work early we didn't know you left" Elena said

"Really I guess you both were real busy beside your door was shut, and I didn't want to interrupt"

"John Ross be nice" Christopher said.

"I am I'm waiting for my date"

"Date" Elena said, and Christopher looked at her the tone she was using was more like she was jealous than curious.

"Yeah Emma remember her from high school, she has been calling me so I finally asked her over for dinner to meet everyone"

"Emma really John Ross she is so phony"

"Why"?

"Whatever have fun". Elena walked into the house, and the door slammed shut, making John Ross smile.

"What is wrong with her"?

"She is tired I guess"

"I guess"

Christopher turned to walk away, but he stopped, and looked at John Ross.

"John Ross"

"Yeah"

"I'm sorry you got hurt but I'm glad your moving on with your life"

"I don't need your pity Christopher, but your right I'm moving on with my life"

"I will see you at dinner"

"Yeah looking forward to it"

"John Ross try to get along with us we have to work together, you barely speak to us, it is getting kind of weird"

"Than why don't you, and Elena sell me your shares, and it won't be weird anymore"

"I won't do that John Ross"

"Well get use to the way you feel than because I will never forgive you"

"God you are just like your Daddy"

John Ross jumped up, "I would be proud of that but you are not like yours he has honor, and respect, and you don't have any of that"

"Respect for you John Ross"?

"Yes for me, I was changing, I was trying to make things right, and you know it. You took the first chance you can get to stab me in the back, but I will pay you back that is a promise you can bank on"

Christopher just walked away, and John Ross sat down, and waited for Emma because he sure needed some fun in his life, and tonight he was going to have some.

Chapter 2

John Ross saw Emma's car drive up, he was walking over to it, but she jumped out of the car, and ran over giving him a big hug.

"John Ross I never thought you would call"

"I'm sorry about that, but I'm glad your here, I would like the family to meet you come inside". He took her hand, and walked her inside, his Father was not home yet, his Mom was coming over she should be here soon. He walked into the living room , and found Bobby, Ann, Elena, and Christopher.

"Hi Everyone" Emma said, John Ross smiled, 'This is my Uncle Bobby, and Ann his wife, and Christopher, and Elena you must remember her from school. Emma smiled but she was not a fan of Elena she was one of the reasons John Ross never gave her the time of day.

"Emma where do you work, I have not seen you around"? Elena asked

"With my Dad he owns his own shoe store in town"

"Really shoes how interesting"

John Ross smiled, "Yeah we all wear them, great job to have don't you agree Elena"

"Yeah must be exciting working in a shoe store". Ann walked over to Elena.

"Why don't you help me in the kitchen Elena"?

"Sure " Elena stormed out Bobby looked at Christopher who was a little angry how Elena was acting. Emma walked over to Christopher, "I remember you in school your younger than John Ross, but you both are cute"

"Oh don't tell them that they already have big heads" Bobby said

Emma laughed, but John Ross smiled, and he took Emma's hand, and said he would show her around. He was showing her around the house, and he walked into his room, and Emma sat on the bed.

"Wow you sleep in here all alone it must get lonely"

"Not really I sleep, I don't have time to feel lonely , I am rarely home"

"Why"?

"I work long hours, but it is fun seeing you again, I should have called you months ago"

"Why didn't you"?

"I was dating it didn't work out, I realize now, I need to move on"

"With me"?

"Lets take it one day at a time Emma"

"Come sit beside me John Ross". He walked over sitting beside her, and she took his hand in hers, and he looked into her eyes. He moved close as their lips came together, he was surprised when Emma pushed him back, and she started to unbutton his shirt.

He needed the attention, and wanted it, but this was going a little fast even for him at the moment.

"John Ross what is wrong"?

"Emma your not ready for this we barely know each other".

Emma smiled this was not the John Ross she knew what was wrong with him.? He would never give up a good romp in bed with a beautiful woman, it bothered her that she was being rejected. She jumped up, and fixed her blouse, and started to walk away, but John Ross grabbed her arm.

"Wait I didn't mean to upset you"

"You asked me here why John Ross, I can see your distracted it is Elena isn't it"?

"No I could careless about that girl"

"You lie I can see it in your eyes you want her"

John Ross pulled her close, and she fell to the bed as he whispered.

"I want you". She giggled as he pulled off his shirt, and started to take off his belt , and she touched his chest, as he brought his lips over hers as their bodies molded together as she roamed her hands down his back, and he started to undress her.

Great update Jessie. I feel horrible for John Ross in your story. I hope that John Ross doesn't reject Emma after they make love becuase he still has feelings for Elena.
