I LOVE Clayton and Miss Ellie played by Howard Keel and Barbara Bel Geddes.

I also love this couple. I didn't think that someone could fill the shoes of Jock. I didn't like Donna Reed as Ellie.

Yes, I liked Clayton and Miss Ellie together as well. Clayton was really a good guy. I really felt bad for him during his first days at Southfork with Ellie. He was in the shadow of Jock, and he felt so out of place. He came dangerously close to smacking J.R. a few times. I sometimes wish he had. However, I love in particular how Bobby, despite not wanting anybody in place of Jock, tried to make Clayton feel welcome, as did Donna and Ray. I think Miss Ellie did the right thing by taking down the picture of Jock and moving it to the Ewing Oil offices. Clayton could really be annoying too. At times he was just unreasonably stubborn.

Great comments about Clayton and Miss Ellie Matthew. I agree with you 100% as well Matthew.

Yes, there was a difference between the marriage between Miss Ellie and Jock and between Miss Ellie and Clayton. But I think that was only a difference. Jock and Clayton were really different kind of husbands. Jock was partly retired tuff oilman but still was tender to her wife. Clayton reminded me a fine English gentleman ! I think that is the fact also in the real life. You can fall in love in so different persons in your life time.

IMO Clayton was a saint to marry into the Ewing family and get JR for a step-son. LOL
