To late to make it right?

Mac was taking a much needed holiday, and he looked at his airline tickets, and wondered if he was making a big mistake. He grabbed his bag, and was leaving the office. Don ran over, "Good Luck Mac"

"Thanks Don do you think I'm crazy"?

" No the crazy thing was you took this long to do it"

Mac smiled, and left and drove to the airport. He went through customs, and was waiting to board the plane. He grabbed a magazine, and a soda, and sat waiting to board. He heard the announcement the plane was boarding. He got on, and was happy he got a window seat. He wanted to get some sleep he was exhausted, but he was so excited, he couldn't sleep very well. He wanted to cry he got a very chatty lady sitting beside him. She told him about her boyfriend problems, and her boss who was a jerk. She said she was on a diet it was driving her crazy she only lost 5 pounds this month. Mac being the good guy listened to her problems, and tried to help out, but giving her advise. She smiled telling him she was grateful for listening, she felt better. He said it was fine, they talked most of the way, Mac was kind of happy when the Pilot announced they would be arriving in New Orleans shortly. Mac put his seatbelt on , and looked out the window wondering how she would react seeing him. He got off the plan went through customs, and got a car, and decided to go see her at her new Place of business. He wasn't sure if she would accept him or if she would be in the office, but he was going to take his chance. He drove up parking, he was walking into the Building he was never more nervous. He walked up to the desk, and said he was Mac Taylor, and before he could finish his sentence he heard someone yell, "Mac Taylor"

Mac turned as Stella hugged him so tight, than she touched his face.

"What are you doing here , are you on business?

"No I'm on holidays, I thought I would come, and see my best friend"

"OMG how long are you here for"?

"1 week, so your happy to see me"?

"You kidding, I have missed you like crazy, your staying at my place"

"Oh I can get a hotel, I'm not going to impose"

"No I have a guest room, I won't take no for an answer"

"What about your boyfriend"?

"Don't have one so don't worry about that"

"Wow you look good Stella"?

"Well I'm happy but I'm thrilled you are here"

"I guess I should let you get back to work"?

"Come see my Office it is just like yours back home"

"Ok" Stella grabbed his hand, and they walked down the hall to his office.

Chapter 2

Stella sat at her desk, and Mac sat down in the couch in her office. She said she had to get some paperwork done, than maybe she could take the afternoon off. Mac said he could read the newspaper, and Stella got up walking over sitting beside him.

" Stella do your work, I understand"

"Mac why didn't you call, and tell me you were coming"?

'It was a last minute trip, I was going to lose my holidays, if I didn't take some. What kind of crap is that you can't save them, so they said I will lose them. I really need a holiday, and I went to get tickets, and you were the first person I wanted to come, and visit"

"Awe you missed me Mac"

'Everyone misses you Stella, it isn't the same without you"

"How is everyone"?

'Great they all say hi'

" Mac there is nothing wrong right"?

"No Stella everything is fine"

Stella got up walking to her desk, and told him to get a coffee if he wanted to. He said he was fine, he would get one later. She was doing her paperwork, and Mac was looking at the paper, but he was really watching her pretending to read the paper. She was beautiful, and she seemed happy. He thought she would have a boyfriend by now but she was like him she dedicated most of her time to her job. She has dated in the past but not much. It was 1/2 hour later when Stella got up, and said they could leave , she has arranged for someone to fill in for her. Mac got up grabbing his coat, he knew she only did this for him, but he was happy she did. They were leaving, he had to laugh so many people were checking him out. They wondered why Stella was leaving early, and who the guy was. She laughed when she got on the elevator saying her team were wonderful but they loved to gossip. She knew they all were talking about the handsome man that got Stella out of the office for the afternoon. She took Mac to her car, and he put his bag in the backseat. He said he wouldn't mind going to a hotel but Stella said there was plenty of room at her Condo.

'Condo you are doing well for yourself"

"Yeah it is a nice place, you should see the view"

Mac liked the view from where he was but he didn't say that to her. They drove to the condo first, and were going to get ready, and than go out to dinner. Mac grabbed his bag, and they went into the building, and got on the elevator. They went up to the 14th floor, and got off the elevator, and went to her door. Mac walked in behind her, and was amazed her place was beautiful.

" I will take you to your room" Mac followed her as she took him to the guestroom. He put his bag down as she told him to unpack, and she would get changed, she was going to take him to one of her favourite restaurants.

"Mexican right"

"You remember"

"Yeah I will take a shower if you don't mind"

"No it is right in there, you can find fresh towels in the cabinet"

"Thanks Stella" She smiled as she shut the door, and walked down the hall to her room. Mac sat on the bed, and laid back. He didn't know how this holiday would turn out, but he knew seeing Stella again was amazing, but when he had to leave her, he knew it would hurt.
