Bad romance
This will be different than anything than I’ve done before. It might be two or three parts, and it has something for me, Jessie and Sanda. I hope you like it.
Pt. !
“ I am through Ryan, it’s over,” Kelly declared in front of everyone. No one bothered to look up. They were used to their dramatics, and this was probably the hundredth time she had broken up with him. He would take her back. He always did.
“What did I do this time?” Ryan rolled his eyes, as he felt Michael’s presence gaze at him from across the room. Sometimes he didn’t know if Michael was rooting for him and Kelly or if he preferred for him to remain single. For that reason alone was almost worth staying in the relationship with Kelly.
“You don’t know what today is? Well then why should I tell you?” She folded her arms across her chest, pouting the way a three year old would.
“It’s Feb. 13. Oh God,” he rubbed his forehead. It was their anniversary. Worse yet, it was the day before Valentine’s day, the two days of the year he normally called off sick. This year he was in the doghouse for sure. He knew he had picked the worst day of the year to hook up with a chick as soon as he had spent the night with Kelly, a fatal mistake, but he didn’t think about the date then. He was too caught up in the excitement of what Jim had told him; that she was totally into him. Kelly was cute, and although she was not normally he was type, it might be fun to have an office romance. Little did he know. How was he going to get out of this this time?

Sue Ellen had her bags packed and ready to go by the time JR got home from work. She was sick of it. It wasn’t Valentine’s day, but she was tired of his forgetting what day it was. She knew he wouldn’t remember. He never did. And she also knew where he was that night. That evening she had been plagued by a series of hang-up calls, Mandy’s trademarks. She was calling to remind Sue Ellen that she was with her husband that night, and Sue Ellen had enough. Why did she put up with it? JR was a player, the best one she knew, and he had played her for years. All she wanted was to be loved, and that wasn’t too much to ask. There was nothing more that she wanted than for him to come home and hold her the way a woman deserved to be, and he couldn’t even manage that. Well tonight she was looking for action, and she would find it wherever she could.
JR came waltzing in, the stud of the night, and he looked amused at Sue Ellen’s latest effort.
“Going on vacation? How do you plan on paying for it? Did you get a job that I don’t know about? Because I sure don’t plan on giving you my credit card for this little scheme of yours,” he laughed, thinking he was the funniest man in town.
“JR it’s not funny. I don’t appreciate you laughing at me and I don’t appreciate you coming home late after spending the night with that tramp. I’m leaving you for good this time, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
JR raised his eyebrow, knowing he had to think fast in order to keep the true love of his life from walking away from his life forever.

Reid was depressed. It was supposed to be the most romantic night of the year coming up, and he couldn’t have the man he loved. That person was Luke Snyder, and he was in love with someone else. Watching someone you love love someone else and knowing you can’t have them was one of the most painful feelings a person could experience. He tried to forget him, tried to move on, but all of his thoughts kept leading him back to Luke. He was comfortable, warm, inviting- he felt like home to him. And he had given him his heart, and there was no way of getting it back.
They say you always want what you can’t have. Reid didn’t know if that was true or not, and that might be the case this time, but all he knew was that he wanted Luke like he had never wanted anyone else. Luke had teased him, tempted him, driven him to distraction, but he never acted on his feelings- if he shared those feelings with Reid. Reid swore he felt the same things too, but he just couldn’t prove it. Katie thought that he was crazy, that Luke wasn’t over Noah, but Reid knew better. In his heart Reid knew that he was meant to be with Luke, that he loved him too, that it wasn’t infatuation or puppy love. He was too old for that; he knew what love was.
“Luke, it’s me. I was wondering if you could come over tonight. I really need to talk to you. It can’t wait any longer. I’ll see you at seven.” Reid hung up the phone, sure as anything in his life that Luke would be there. He knew him; Luke wouldn’t let him down.
