A night to reflect

Short story for you Melinda I hope you like it. It has been in my mind for weeks, and I finally started writing it. I hope you like it.

Hawkeye was over at another camp helping out that is where he met Melinda she was a Major, a Head Nurse. She was beautiful, he had been lonely he and Margaret called it quits weeks prior, and he hadn't been with anyone. He had 2 days off, and he went for it. He wanted to have some fun not just sex he needed to talk to someone that wasn't the same sex. He loved his talks with B.J but that wasn't enough. He walked over to Melinda he was going to ask her if she wanted to spend some time with him?

"Hey Melinda I will be leaving soon, this week has been pretty hectic but working along side of you was amazing"

"Thanks for coming over our Captain is back now so you can leave anytime, but I will miss you"

"That is what I was thinking about I have 2 days off, what about you"?

"Yeah I have worked 12 days straight only stopping for a little sleep, I have the weekend too"

"Well I was thinking about maybe me, and you having some fun"

"Hawkeye I hope your not talking about sex"?

"No we can have a drink, and talk , and see where it goes"

"I know your reputation I have heard stories from the girls, you are a Casanova"

"Really"?

Melinda smiled, "I can use some fun, but be a gentleman"

"Me nothing but a gentleman" She smiled they finished up with their last bit of duties, when Hawkeye had a idea.

"There is this place we all go to it is very private. We will be safe, it really is my place so we don't have to worry about anyone coming by, and bothering us"

"Just the two of us you sure it is safe"?

Hawkeye smiled, 'Your not afraid of me are you"?

"Not at all ok if you think it is safe I will go" They left Hawkeye drove his truck, and they got to the little hideout, Melinda was shocked it was somewhere no one would think to look. It was basically in a cave but it was not so bad. They even had running water it must be from the river. Hawkeye had a mattress, with some blankets on top. There was some alcohol but Melinda didn't drink. She sat on the mattress, and Hawkeye sat beside her.

"Are you OK we can leave, I can take you to my camp. BJ would give us privacy"

"What is with the privacy Hawkeye"?

"Can I tell you the truth"?

"Yeah I would like that"

"Well I'm lonely, I'm not a type of guy that can go months without human touch, and I was so attracted to you Melinda"

Melinda jumped up, "OMG I don't believe you, I'm not some one night stand Hawkeye"

"I know that but this war sucks, and feeling alone, sucks more don't you think"?

"Take me back to camp please"

"No I will be good, I won't ask again I just need to talk, and be with someone"

Melinda walked to the opening of the cave but turned back the look on Hawkeyes face melted her heart. He was like a little sad puppy that just lost everything. Melinda started to cry, "I am lonely too Hawkeye, I left my kids behind, and it kills me"

"Your married"?

"Was but not anymore, but I have 2 kids my girl will be fine but my boy has Autism, he needs me"

"I'm so sorry Melinda but I'm sure he will be fine"

Melinda walked over sitting beside Hawkeye. She pulled out a picture of her kids, and smiled, 'They are beautiful, the best thing I ever did was having them"

"They are sweet he doesn't look sick"

"No he doesn't he is so special so is my girl"

Hawkeye wrapped his arm around Melinda as she cried in his arms.

Chapter 2

Melinda and Hawkeye were talking sitting on the cot, Hawkeye took Melinda's hand. She smiled, "Hawkeye do you ever regret coming here"?

"Me everyday, but I also think I'm needed here"

"I feel the same way, but sometimes I wonder what Mother would leave her children to come here"?

"You are one great Nurse, and you help so many people, your here to help others Melinda"

"I know that Hawkeye but my kids need me too"

"I saw what you did for that young soldier today, he lost his legs, and he was losing it, but you calmed him down long enough to put him under"

"He was so scared he is barely out of his teens, what will his life be now"?

"He is alive he will go home, and his family will still have their son or brother"

"Hawkeye do you have someone at home"?

"No that is a blessing, but sometime in the future I will grow up, and realize I want to settle down, and be someones husband"

Melinda smiled, "Well you have enough women over here that could be your girlfriend"

"I have a reputation but give me a break, I'm such a catch the girls can't keep their hands off of me"

Melinda smiled, "You are to much Hawkeye but you are cute"

"Cute not sexy or handsome"?

"All of the above, but I love your sense of humor more than anything"

"Not my lips or my hands"

"Hawkeye" He reached over touching her chin, as he brought his lips over hers as they kiss. He whispered, "If you want me to stop I will but I have never been more drawn to anyone like I'm drawn to you"

"I bet you say that to all the women here"

"No, you are so different, and I like that"

"Hawkeye I'm scared, I don't want to be part of the rumor mill around here"

"What happens this weekend is our secret"

Melinda smiled, "You are a sweet talker Hawkeye"

Hawkeye got up walking over to his bag pulling out a bottle of vodka. "Want a drink"?

"I don't drink, but I would like a cola"

"I brought some pop but you don't drink really"?

"No never have"

Hawkeye grabbed her a coke out of his bag, he handed her the can, as he sat beside her with the vodka. "Well this is my medicine this has been my friend on many cold nights alone"

"I'm sure you were not alone all that much"

"You would be surprised, I'm not that bad Melinda" She giggled as she opened her can, but it sprayed all over her, and Hawkeye. She was laughing as Hawkeye laughed, "Oh man a wet t-shirt, love the look on ladies"

"Hawkeye I swear you are so bad"

"Tell me that doesn't excite you "

"It does but I don't want to be a notch on your belt. I want to be someone special, but I know after this weekend we will walk away, and probably never see each other again. How am I suppose to know how many other women you brought to your special place. I'm a lady Hawkeye, and I plan to leave this war with that title"

Hawkeye giggled, "Well a lady needs loving too"

Melinda smiled as she looked into his eyes, as they both kiss.

Chapter 3

Hawkeye touched her blouse, she put her hands on his, and he whispered.

"You really want me to stop Melinda, I need you"

"Hawkeye do you care for me, I mean any feeling beside lust"

"I have liked you for months, and lust is a good thing, I would love to hear you have that feeling for me"

"Oh God Hawkeye you are so irresistible, I want you too". He laid her back as he moved down bringing his lips over hers, as his hands were unbuttoning her shirt. She moaned as he moved down her body, his lips went to her neck, and than down her chest. He unfastened her bra, and pulled it off, making her put her hands over her chest, but he stopped her.

"You are so beautiful don't be shy"

"Hawkeye". He brought his lips over her breasts, and she shut her eyes, his mouth was causing her to lose all control, she knew there was no stopping them now she needed, and wanted Hawkeye. She has been so alone, she was not like some of the other ladies here she didn't sleep around, but she didn't blame the others this place made you so vulnerable, and lonely, any loving got you through the day.

"Melinda are you having second thoughts, I will stop"

"No don't stop Hawkeye, I need you too". Hawkeye smiled just what he wanted to hear. He was pulling off her scrub pants, as he looked down at her body, he was so aroused he couldn't take much more himself. He pulled his scrub shirt off, and Melinda moved up, and brought her lips over his chest, as she brought her hands down his body, and was helping him remove his scrub pants. They both were completely undressed, she laid back as he moved over her, and parted her with his legs. She shut her eyes as they became one, and he went slow, and let her adjust to him, and she moaned out his name telling him not to stop.

Hawkeye lost all control Melinda was driving him crazy, he moved as they both were coming to their release. He wanted to please her in every way, and he brought her to her release, and he soon after came to his as he collapsed in her arms. They both were glued to each other not wanting to pull away, they wanted to feel this moment forever but they knew it would end, and they would have to go back to the sadness, and sorrow, and the death, but they knew they would never forget this moment. Melinda knew it would be hard if she never saw Hawkeye again, but she knew she would never regret this moment, she was so content in his arms. She felt so warm, and safe, she didn't want to let him go. Hawkeye touched her lips, and whispered to her.

"Melinda please tell me you don't regret what we just did"

"No it was beautiful Hawkeye you are quite the lover, I feel so safe here in your arms, I don't want this to end". Melinda felt emotional she had tears in her eyes, he touched her chin, and whispered.

"It doesn't have to end we are together, I will keep you safe". He pulled her close as she wrapped her arms around him as they just sat there holding each other.
