I never recovered after Pam left the show The show went downhill from that moment, it became something different, not what we were used to!! imagine Pam and Bobby going into the 90.s that would have been interesting, she left to soon thats for sure.. The way she left was horrible, its something that shouldn't happen !! I am watching season 9 the DVD count, and i am gonna miss Pam so much in about 50 episodes!! Welcome to the board Hendrik. I agree that Dallas was never the same after Pam/VP left the show. Bobby and Pam are my favorite couple on the show and they were reason why I watched Dallas.

Hi all, I have to agree with Sanda, I didn't like VP exit. After, all that talk about I would never let you out of my life again. She really wanted a child, so why leave the one she already had. <shaking head back and forth><hand in the air > <talk to the hand> No No! I must admit I didnt watch the show after she departed.

I agree with you 100% Tammie. I will admit that I don't remember much about Dallas after seaosn 9 when Pam blew up in her car. I don't want own the last 4 years of Dallas unless someone gives to me. I wouldn't want someone to waste their money on the last 4 years of Dallas either to give it to me for a gift.

Mary, I am soo glad that you agree with me. As much as I LOVE Bobby James Ewing/PD as well as Pam Jean Barnes Ewing/VP I wasn't impressed with Bobby after Pam left the show.

I, too, didn't like the fact that Bobby skirt-chased after Pam left and then married April. I'm sorry, but April just didn't cut it as Bobby's mate for me. She just wasn't our beloved Pamela. I much preferred to see Sheree Wilson with Chuck Norris. I didn't like the way VP was written off Dallas, either. As somebody implied earlier, if Pam had been killed, then the producers might set the show up for another possible "dream", which most likely would've put the final nail in the coffin. But having her leave the way she did just didn't seem feasible either, especially since she had promised earlier that she would never abandon Christopher, as Pam and Cliff had been abandoned themselves. It's just not Pam to inflict that same trauma on her child, as well as the love of her life...... The final four seasons seemed like patchwork. There seemed to be no real central characters or good-bad theme. I really wish Dallas had ended in 1987. Despite the ill-effects of the previous season being a "dream", I personally didn't mind it. And at this point, unlike in 1991, the show still had some dignity left. It should've gone out with some.

It is soo sad to watch all the wonderful Bobby and Pam music videos that have been made by various people on the Ulitmate Dallas forum and on the Bobby and Pam message board and to see the amazing chemistry between PD and VP that we are sadly reminded of how badly they ended in 1987. Bobby and Pam belong together forever.

I agree 100% with Americanlife and Sanda! I never forgive the writers for Pam's last storyline! At list they could make Bobby and Pam to have their own child... I never recovered after Pam's exit. The purity and the love disappear in the same time with Pam! I always hoped that Pam was going to return and I never accepted that she didn't!

It wasn´t the best choice available how Pam was written out of the show. But what would have a better one ? I think the idea if Pam had died in that car crash it would have been realistic but very unsuitable for a soap opera. I think a good choice would have been : Pam dies in Bobby´s arms. A similarity to the one when Bobby "died" in the hospital before the dream season.

I think the writers didn´t let Pam die. Maybe Victoria Principal would one day come back like Patrick Duffy did. So there wouldn´t have been another " miracle in the shower" like in the end of the dream season.

I agree that the writers didn't want to kill Pam off the show just in case Victoria Principal wanted to return to the show like Patrick did but unfortunately she never came back to the role of Pam.

I was watching video clips of Bobby and Christopher after Pam's accident on Youtube earlier today. I HATE how Pam was written out of the show. The way the writers wrote Pam out of the show was so STUPID. Bobby and Pam deserved to havea a happy ending.
