Sue Ellen knew that she was an alcoholic. She needed that last drop, it wasn’t enough for her. She couldn’t help it. One more drink was too much but there wasn’t enough in the world to satisfy her thirst for it. The same was true for her ache for JR. She needed him even more than she needed her alcohol. He was a poison, deadly to the touch but what she longed for more than anything in the world. One look from him and she melted like ice on a warm spring day. It was all his fault. He knew he had a deadly hold over her and he used it whenever he had the chance.
Why couldn’t she break free from his hold? What was it about his charms that she couldn’t resist? Of all the men in the state of Texas she would have to fall in love with JR Ewing. He was rich and powerful, and that was part of her attraction to him to be honest. He knew that he was powerful, and he used it to his advantage. He took advantage of others, including her. Knowing her every weakness, JR knew her biggest weakness was him and he played upon it every chance he could.
Why couldn’t she walk away from him? Lord knew he drove her out of her mind, crazy with grief, jealousy, desire, madness. Every range of emotion she had experience ever since she had fallen in love with him. She never knew love could be such misery ever since she had met JR. And yet she kept coming back for more. There was no way she could walk away from him. Masochist to the end, Sue Ellen knew that JR had become part of her that she couldn’t break free from. And the worst part was that she knew that JR knew that as well. He enjoyed the hold he had over her. He tortured her mentally and emotionally. Yet she couldn’t get enough.
One day, when she quit the bottle, she would leave Southfork and Texas forever. She would break free from his poisonous spell and never look back. JR couldn’t hold her down forever. That’s what she wanted. At least that’s what she told herself. Just one more drink. One more night with JR. Then she would quit them both. Forever.
The end
