A short or long story for Melinda and Sanda. I hope you both like it. Not to many people like my Frasier stories but I appreciate when you read them.

Keeping it in the Family

Chapter 1

Daphne and Niles were having breakfast with David. He was 3 years old, and he loved to talk. Niles use to tease Daphne by saying he was like his Mom in the talking department. They were so proud of David he was so smart and he loved when his parents read to him. They all were finishing up breakfast when the phone rang. Daphne got up thinking it was probably Martin or Nile's secretary. Niles was a little late and Daphne said he was going to get a lecture.

Daphne picked up the phone saying "Hello"

"Daphne it is me"

Daphne was surprised to hear his voice but she finally said, "Simon is something wrong"?

"Not really but would you be ok with me coming to your house tonight about seven"?

Daphne looked at Niles she knew something was wrong but Simon obviously wanted to tell her in person.

"You in town"?

"No but I will be around five pm. I can't stay long I have to leave in the morning but don't worry I already have a place to stay"

"You could stay here if you want"

"No I think it would be best I stay at the hotel near the airport. I have a early flight out in the morning. I have something so important to ask you and Niles he will be there to I hope"

"Yes he should be home by seven"

"Ok Daphne I will see you than".

"Bye Simon" She hung up and Niles got up walking over to Daphne asking her what was wrong.

"I don't know Simon wants to see us both something is wrong I just know it"

"Maybe he wants to borrow money or something"

"I doubt it he was not himself he seemed different"

"Should I be scared"? Niles said but Daphne smiled, "No it might be what you said you better get to work and be home by seven tonight. I will get David ready for preschool, and go over to your Fathers. You don't mind if I order dinner in tonight what would you prefer"

"Anything but Pizza I am tired of it"

David heard pizza and his head turned saying, "Pizza"

"Way to go Niles, I will think of something"

Niles gave both Daphne and David a kiss and left for work. Daphne turned to David lifting him from the kitchen chair telling him they better get him cleaned up for daycare.

She couldn't get the call out of her head she just hoped nothing happened to any of her family or she prayed Simon was not in trouble.

Chapter 2

Daphne left the house and drove David to Daycare it was at the local school. Niles liked the idea because when he went to kindergarten it was in the same school. He loved making new friends so it got easier dropping him off. The first day was not pleasant for Daphne and Niles David cried and than Daphne was so upset they had to bring David home. The next day Niles took David to school, and after a week David got upset when weekends came because he loved going to daycare so much. It took Daphne a little while to not feel guilty dropping him off she felt like a bad Mother. Niles thought it was a good idea because when he was younger he didn't have many friends and he didn't want that for David as he grows up.

Daphne gave David a hug he ran over to the other children as Daphne hung up his coat in his little locker space. She gave the Daycare lady his snack, and his lunch, and she said she would pick him up at 2. She watched him for a few minutes and it gave Daphne joy seeing him so happy with the other kids. She left, and drove over to Martin's and Ronee's place. She had to laugh as always Martin was being a little grumpy and Ronee was giving him a lecture. Martin was saying he was tired but Daphne said she would go easy on him. She was helping Martin with his exercises when Martin looked at her asking her if something was wrong?

"I don't know I got a message from my Brother this morning he is coming by our place at 7 tonight. He says he has something to tell us but I have a bad feeling something is seriously wrong"

"What Brother"?

"Simon"

" If he is showing up like this it must be important, and knowing Simon he probably got himself in trouble"

"You think I was worried about that"

"He might just want to see his Sister so don't worry to much"

"No Simon always has a reason for showing up"

"If you want to go home early and take it easy that is fine with me" Martin said but Daphne smiled, "No way you are doing your exercises Martin you are not getting away that easy"

"How did I know you would say that"?

"Maybe you are psychic"

"No that is you lets get this exercise over with so I can go watch some of those dumb game shows Ronee loves"

"I guess you love them too"

"No I just like to bug her while she watches them"

"You are bad Martin Crane"

"I know but you love me anyway"

"Yes I do" Daphne gave him a hug than they returned back to their exercises.

Jessie, thank you so much for dedicating your new Frsiser story to me and Melinda. I hope Melinda will love this story you are writing for us. :)I love your new your Fraiser story . Niles, Daphne, and David are so cute together. I can't wait to find out why Simon needs speak to Daphne and Niles. I loved the talk between Martin and Daphne in chapter two of this story. I hope you update this story again really soon. :)I love all of your stories and one shots you write and post on my mesage board.

Chapter 3

Daphne was on the way home she picked up David from preschool first, and than drove home. She couldn't get Simon out of her head why was he coming tonight, and why was he here? She hoped he just came for a visit but she knew Simon probably needed something from her. She parked the car grabbed her things, and lifted David out of the car seat. He had fallen asleep during the drive and she hoped she could put him down without waking him. She wanted to do a few things before Simon arrived. She went inside, and she was lucky she got David down he was exhausted. He normally was after having a afternoon with the children at preschool. He loved being around other children so much. . Daphne knew she wanted David to have a little brother or Sister to grow up with. She watched him sleep for a few minutes than she left his room to go to the kitchen. She was going to order dinner but she pulled out the pizza flyer and smiled knowing David would eat this every night. She also knew Simon was a huge fan of pizza but Niles not so much. She was trying to decide what to get when she heard the door open, and Niles called out to her.


"I am in the kitchen Niles"

Niles came in smiling, "It was so quiet when I came in is David asleep"?

"Yes he was exhausted so he is napping"

"Are you trying to decide what to order for dinner"?

"Yes Niles I am worried why do you think Simon is coming here so unexpectedly?"

"I have no idea we will find out tonight"

Daphne smiled, "What should I order for dinner"?

"You know what order pizza I will survive besides I know our sweet boy loves it so much"

"You are the best Daddy"

"God you are so beautiful Daphne"

"I have to shower and change I look horrible."

"Maybe we can shower together"

"Simon will be here in a hour and a half and time will fly so you call the pizza place and tell them we want the pizza at 7pm, and get garlic bread and chicken wings too"

"Fun I have to call the pizza place that is always fun"

"I love you Niles" She left Niles who looked at the pizza flyer and shook his head but he called to order the food, and told them to arrive at 7"

He went to see if David was awake he was sitting up looking at a comic when Niles walked in. David put the comic behind his back making Niles walk over asking him what he was hiding.

"It is a comic Daddy"

"Where did you get the comic book from"?

"Billy at school he said he doesn't want it anymore. I gave him my toy car for the comic book"

"Really do you think that is wise you gave up one of your favourite cars for this"?

Niles looked at the comic it was a Super Hero one he never really understood the big fascination with comics.

"Daddy look this guy is the Hulk he is scary when he is mad. This guy is the bad guy and Hulk is going to find him"

"Well son that sounds interesting but your Uncle Simon is coming so you better get changed. We are having pizza for dinner I know you will love that"

"I love Pizza so much"

Niles smiled, "I know you do but maybe you can start liking Chinese food"

"No I like Pizza"

Niles laughed as he helped David get changed. Daphne came into the room seeing Niles and David sitting on the bed both looking so adorable. Niles was actually reading David the comic which surprised Daphne.

"You two look handsome I see you both changed"

"Yes Uncle Simon is coming and we are having pizza"

"I know but how does Mommy look"

"You look Pretty Mommy"

Niles put the comic down, and walked over touching Daphne's arm. "You are stunning"

Niles and Daphne move close as they kiss making David giggle.

"We have a audience" Daphne said

Niles put his hand out to David, and the three of them left the room to go wait for Simon to arrive.

Cute update Jessie. Daphne, Niles, and David are so cute together. :)I love that David hide his comic that got from his friend Billy behind his back when his daddy walked into the room. :)I hope that Daphne and Niles have another baby in this story you are writing for me and Melinda and that they have a little girl. I especially love that they are going be having pizza, garlic bread sticks, and chicken wings for dinner even though Niles isn't a fan of pizza, garlic bread sticks, and chicken wings and that he would rather have Chinese Food for dinner. I love pizza, garlic bread sticks, and chicken wings. I would love to go to Niles, Daphne, and David's house for dinner and have pizza and chicken wings with them. :)I can't wait for their friend Simon to arrive and have dinner with them. :)I can't wait to find out what Simon wants. :)I love this Frasier story you are writing for me and Melinda. :)I hope you update this story again really soon.
