Story for you Melinda, I hope you like this short story. It is a Hershel tribute, I miss him on the show.
If only I could be half the man as your Father.
Glenn has been looking for Maggie for days, and now he was slowly losing hope but he knew if he did, and she was still safe, and he let her down he would never forgive himself. He remembered how Hershel treated him like a son, and told him if he trusted anyone with his daughter Maggie it was him, and he couldn't let Hershel down. The thought of Hershel getting killed at the hands of the Governor made Glenn sick, and so angry. He should have been there to help Hershel but he knew if Rick, and Daryl, and the others especially Maggie couldn't save him he couldn't either. Hershel was the most deceit man, and to die at the hands of the Governor was so sickening. Hershel would do anything for anyone he would give up his food some nights just so everyone else could be fed. Hershel volunteered to be with the sick, and he didn't care if he could get sick he just wanted to make the others better, and he never thought of himself. Glenn remembered the day Hershel gave him his watch, and told him he was part of the family, and he was happy Maggie found someone like him. Glenn had a pretty normal life, he had parents that loved him but he was a spoiled brat, and left home because he didn't want to live by the rules. He roomed with friends, and the day everything changed, and he saw two of his best friends killed right in front of him. He never needed or wanted to be with his Parents more. He ran home, and found the house empty. His Parents, and little sister were gone, and he had no idea if they were dead or alive. He knew the chances are they were gone but hoping, and praying they were somewhere safe made Glenn feel comfort because the thought of them being like one of the Walking Dead made his skin crawl. He was alone for days, but he finally met Dale, and than the others, and ever since he felt at peace. He had many days where he thought he would die but everyday passed, and he was still alive. He never met anyone real special until he met Maggie. He was head over heels in love with the girl or maybe it was lust he didn't know. He loves Maggie, and he promised Hershel he would take care of her, and keep her safe, and he had to find Maggie before it was to late. She was like her Father strong, caring, stubborn, and amazing. Glenn hated thinking he would never see Hershel again, and that he would never see his Daughters marry, and have kids. Glenn knew it might be a fools dream but he also knew having no dreams, and hopes he my as well just crawl up, and wait to die. He remembered Hershel was there helping him get better, and telling him he better get his butt out of bed, and be there for Maggie. Glenn knew Hershel cared for him, and Glenn thought of Hershel like a Father. He was someone he looked up to, and he wanted to be like, and he knew it would be hard but he wanted to make Hershel proud. He had to keep going, and he had to find Maggie, and tell her he will never leave her side again, and together they will make it, and someday they will be happy. Glenn got up, and told the others he was moving on he had to find Maggie because he knew she was close he could feel it, and he needed to find her before it was to late.
