A Carol, and Daryl short story for you Melinda. You asked me to do one on FB tonight hope you like this one. I hope you like it to Sanda, I know you are loving Daryl and Carol too.

Months without your Beautiful Smile

It has been 9 months since Daryl has seen Carol, and it still hurt like Hell. He stayed with the Group but he has barely spoken to Rick. He use to consider him like a Brother but after what he did to Carol he could never forgive him. He went out for weeks, and weeks looking for her but after each trip he came back he soon realized he lost the only woman he has ever loved. He hated Rick even more because he never got the chance to tell her how he felt, and he never will now. Carol changed him, and he was beginning to allow people close but ever since she left he went back into that shell of himself, and he was not going to let another human being close enough to make him care. He would go out hunting with Michonne but she soon gave up talking to him because Daryl had so much anger in himself he felt like he was dying inside. He would wake up at night hearing Carol calling for him but he knew it was just in his head. He knew she was gone he would have found her if she wasn't. He prayed if she was dead that she was not a walker it hurt so bad picturing that in his head.

It was getting cold, and Daryl knew he better go out, and find some food , and supplies. Michonne hurt her foot, and she could not go with him. Glenn, and Rick said they would go with him but he didn't want anyone he needed to be alone so he could think, and try to release this hurt he has been feeling for 9 months. He left Rick watched as he disappeared, and he knew Daryl was in no frame of mind to be out there alone. He never told Daryl but he has nightmares about Carol, and he would pray when Daryl came back from his hundreds of trips he would return with Carol. It never happen, and he had to come to terms with the fact Carol probably died shortly after he sent her off on her own. He turned his back on her, and he would regret it until the day he died.

Daryl was walking, and walking he was not focusing, and he knew that was going to get him killed. He even wondered if death would be better than how he feels now. He also wondered if he should keep walking, and never go back to the Group because being there only makes him think of her more. He sees her in the kitchen, and hears her voice, and laugh but it is not real she was gone. He kept walking, and he realized he was going to have to stop, and rest it was getting dark he would never make it back to the Prison before it got dark, and it would not be safe. He walked for about 20 more minutes when he saw a log cabin, and he started walking toward it. He walked up to the door, and he was looking around when a man came out he was about Hershel's age, and he held up a gun asking Daryl why he was here?

"I am looking for a place to crash for the night but I will leave, I thought maybe the place was vacant"

"You are alone"?

"Yeah I was out looking for supplies, but there is nothing around here anymore. You live alone here "?

"I am not alone but basically I am she has not talked since the day I found her"

Daryl turned, "You found a woman where"?

"3 miles from here she must have hit a herd of walkers , and crashed her car. She would have died if she didn't crash on the driver side the Walker's couldn't get to her. It took me hours to get her out of that car her arm was so bad, and she was losing so much blood. I had to amputate her arm but I got the bleeding stopped but I might have saved her that day but she has a hurt to deep inside she is like she is dead inside, and I don't know how to help her"

Daryl was shaking inside could it be Carol?

"What is wrong Son"?

"What is her name"?

"I don't know she has never told me"

"God where is she, I have to see her"?

"I don't know she is scared of strangers she gets very upset , and I don't want to see her like that"

"Where is she please I need to know if she is the"

"God are you Daryl"?

"How the Hell do you know my name"?

"She has only said one persons name mostly in her dreams"

"Oh God it is Carol she is alive"

"If it is this Carol you better  prepare yourself she is not the woman you remember"

Daryl stared at him as Sam pointed to the room, and Daryl walked down the hall to see her.

oh so sad but I can tell this is going to be beautiful and heartwarming (those are your specialities! I can't wait to see where you go with this, thanks for writing. I will read your and Sanda's stories a little later Craig came home and I promised I would watch a movie. But I will read a little at least tonight. Jessie I wrote you a story I hope you like it

Chapter 2

Daryl put his hand on the doorknob he was shaking so bad. He has longed to see her for so long but now that she may be in this room he was scared to see her , and know he should have protected her. It was Rick's fault he sent her out on her own but he felt just as responsible if  only he told her how he felt maybe she would have came to him before making the decision she made. He didn't blame her she did what she did for the Group, and he knew that with his whole heart. She was so fragile when he met her but she grew, and could have crawled up and died after her daughter Sophia died but she didn't. She went on for the Group and she put every waking moment of her life into trying to keep them safe. He wiped a tear from his cheek as he opened the door, and walked inside shutting it. The lighting was dim but he could see her on the bed. He walked over to the bed, and he felt like he was going to lose it. She was frail, and so pale, and she lost so much weight but she still was beautiful. He sat beside her, and he wanted to touch her but he didn't want to scare her so he just stared at her. He felt tears come to his eyes again as she moaned out she was in pain , and he didn't know what to do.

She was having a dream, and he knew it wasn't a good one because she was tossing, and moaning in her sleep. He wanted to wake her but he was afraid to hurt her. She finally jumped waking up from her sleep, and she was coughing she couldn't catch her breath. Daryl reached over touching her making her push his hand away but she turned looking at him, and she froze. It was like she was in a dream, and she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"Carol it is me"

Carol let out this cry that sounded like a wounded animal, he could see she was shaking.

"Carol I am here, I have looked everywhere for you"

She could barely talk her throat was so dry but she whispered

"Please go away"

'What no, I am not going anywhere"

Carol turned tears fell from her eyes as he went to touch her but she whispered.

'I don't want you to see me like this" She turned , and she showed him the stump where her arm use to be, and he whispered.

"You lost your arm you are alive, and I will never let you down again"

Carol was shaking as Daryl pulled her close, and she laid her head on his shoulder. He shut his eyes she was alive that is all that was important.

"Daryl I thought you hated me too"

"You fool I would never hate you, I have been dying inside so worried about you. I have not talked to Rick I will never forgive him for sending you away"

"I wish I could forgive him Daryl I thought we were family but I never belonged , I was always the outsider"

"Hell you were Michonne, Glenn, Lizzie , Mika, Hershel, and Carl have missed you like crazy"

"Daryl I will never survive out there now look at me"

"Yeah you lost to much weight , and you need to get out of this room , and get some fresh air"

"Daryl you should go back, and be with the Group, and forget you ever found me. I will be ok now that I know you cared"

"You think I am going to leave you here maybe you got brain damage when you had that accident"

"Daryl I am at peace now Sam is kind, and he takes care of me"

"Yeah I owe the Old guy but he didn't know your name"

"I was angry with him for saving me, I wanted to die in that car. I lost everything in my life my sweet girl, and my family but knowing I let you down hurt so bad, I didn't want to go on"

"Well get over it, I will go back if and only when you are well enough to join me"

"Daryl I can't go back there, and be rejected, I am to tired"

Daryl laid her back, and laid beside her, and whispered. "I am not going anywhere"

"Daryl what are you doing"?

"Having a nap with my girl"

Carol smiled as she went to go in his arms but she got one of her Phantom pains. She lost her arm but she still felt pain it was pretty severe she shut her eyes, and tried to be brave but she started to cry.

"What is wrong did I hurt you'?

"No I lost my arm but I still feel the pain, Sam said it is normal but it sucks"

Daryl sat up, and touched her chin as he whispered.

"What can I do to make you feel better"?

She never told Sam but some nights he would sit up hours rubbing her back, and it would relieve the pain. She didn't want to ask Daryl but it was like he had a six sense. He started to rub her back on the left side where she lost her arm as she started to shut her eyes, and he could see it was helping with the pain. He was exhausted he had been walking for so long but he would do anything to get his Carol back. She finally fell asleep he laid beside her, and he was afraid to wrap his arm around her but he did because he knew he couldn't sleep if she was not safe in his arms.

Great start to your story Jessie. I am so glad that Daryl found Carol but I am really sad that Carol lost one of her arms and that she in a lot of pain becuase she lost one of her arms. I just hope and pray that Carol and Daryl will be able to get through this together as a couple now that Daryl has found Carol after nine months. Rick needs to pay big time for leaving Carol all alone to fend for herself against the Walkers and the Zombies. I hope you update this awesome story you are writing again really really soon.

Chapter 3

A few days later

Daryl was helping out around the place, and Carol for the first time in months left her room, and walked out to the kitchen where Daryl, and Sam were sitting at the table having coffee. Carol looked weak, and Daryl got up, and asked her if everything is ok?

"Yes I need something to drink I am thirsty"

Sam jumped up, "You should have called, I would have brought it to you"

"Thank you Sam but I should learn to take care of myself you have been so kind. I am a burden, and I hate it"

"You are no burden I love having someone here with me even though you never talked to me"

"Sorry I will be honest with you, I was angry you saved me, I wanted to die"

"Well you are here for a reason or you would have died on that road that day if God wanted you to. I know you hate me for amputating your arm but I had no choice Carol."

"I know you had no choice" Carol walked over to the table, and sat down she was shaky as Sam handed her some water, and she took it, and took a sip.

"Would you like something to eat you didn't eat your breakfast" ? Daryl said as he got up to make her something but she said no. He hated being mean but he was angry she was going to die if she didn't eat she was so thin, and she needed to eat.

"Why you didn't eat dinner last night, no breakfast today do you want to die"?

"My stomach hurts please don't yell at me"

Sam smiled, "He is worried so am I have some soup Daryl went out, and got us a couple of squirrels , and we made some soup please have some."

"It won't stay down I know it"

"God woman you are a fool" Daryl walked out of the house, and let the door slam making Carol jump.

Sam walked over touching her shoulder, and whispered, "He cares I will go speak to him"

"No let me"

"You are to weak to go outside go lay down, and I will check on you after I check on him"

Carol got up walking down the hall as Sam watched Daryl was right if she didn't start eating she would be dead soon, and it made him sad.

Carol walked to the bed, and sat down she was so sore but the pain in her heart , and knowing Daryl was angry with her made her feel even worse. She has not eaten for so long just eating a little she can't keep it down, and she doesn't want Daryl to see her sick so she would rather not eat. She laid back she was so tired of being tired but as always she fell asleep , that is all she did nowadays.

Daryl was sitting by a tree just staring across the land when Sam walked over, and sat beside him.

"Daryl yelling at her isn't going to make it better she is hurting please try to be patient with her."

"No she is a fool, and she is going to die, and I should leave her"

"You really feel that way Daryl why are you here than"?

"Fool I came for her"

"Yes, and she has been through hell so cut her some slack"

"We all have been through hell Old Man"

"What does she see in you Daryl right this moment I don't like what I see"

Sam got up and was walking back to the house when Daryl jumped up.

"I'm Sorry but she driving me crazy she needs to eat"

"Yes she does so get a bowl of soup, and take it to her"

"You heard her she won't listen she wants to die"

"She doesn't want you to see her suffer she is scared but she loves you Fool"

Daryl smiled, "Who you calling a fool Old man"?

"You because if you give up on her now you should end her life before you leave because you will kill her anyway"

"What if she doesn't eat the soup"?

"Try that is all you can do"

Daryl agreed and the two of them went back to the house together.

Great update Jessie. I hope things work out for Carol and Daryl in your awesome story that you are writing about Carol and Daryl your favorite couple form the Walking Dead. I don't blame Sam and Daryl both for being frustrated with Carol at the moment. She needs to eat so she can get better. I also loved the talk between Daryl and Sam out on the front porch as well. I hope that Daryl and Sam can get Carol to eat someone so she can get well because Daryl and ?Sam both care about her and love her so much. I love Carol and Daryl as well and I want them to have a happy ending. I don't think we are going to be seeing any romance between Carol and Daryl anytime soon on this show because the writers really love to torher us with blood and guts. . I hope we see Carol on this weeks episode of The Walking Dead. I love reading and commenting on all of your awesome stories and one shot you write and post on my message board.

I hope Carol sees how much Daryl cares for her and that they realize that what they feel is love, and I hope they find it on the show too. I love your Darly/Carol stories so much, you are so good at them, please write more!
