Daryl's wake up call
It was one month after they escaped the prison with their lives. Daryl was so angry he wanted to stay, and kill the Governor, but Rick, and the others wanted to leave. They did but Daryl felt they ran away letting the Governor off he killed his Brother, and deserved to die for it. He felt maybe he didn't really mean all that much to the group either. He was bitter, and angry, and rarely talked to anyone. They found a new Farm house, and they made it their home. It was a big place, and it was great for the kids.
Carol did everything she could to talk to Daryl, but he pushed her away , and made her feel horrible. She loved Daryl but she was tired of feeling his rejection, and after this last time she tried to get him to notice her she finally gave up, and left him alone like he wanted. He looked up seeing her walk away, and he knew at that moment he finally broke her, and he wanted to yell for her to stop but he couldn't she deserved better than him.
Days passed Rick couldn't stand seeing Daryl so angry, and pulling away from everyone but it was Carol that he worried about more. She was not herself she cooked, and cleaned, and took her turn looking over the land but the life was not in her eyes. She was pale she rarely ate, and she took care of Judith but it was a chore to her now. She just wanted to be alone, and she spend every free moment sitting in her room looking out the window thinking about her life, and everything she lost. Rick had enough so he went looking for Daryl. He found him at his post, and he walked up to him.
"Daryl I need to talk to you"
"Rick I don't want to talk"
"Than listen to me Daryl"
"What Rick"?
"You are hurting you lost your Brother, and I know how it feels to lose someone you love. I can't say I cared about Merle but I can see you loved him, and for that I'm sorry for your loss. We all lost so much no more than Carol. She lost her husband , and I must say that isn't much of a loss but losing Sophia almost killed her, but she is strong, and smart, and a great member of this group, but everyone here can see you are the reason she goes on. You are the reason she gets up in the morning, and she is hurting so bad right now, and I hate to say this but shame on you Daryl"
"Me she is not my burden none of you are my burden anymore"
"You fool she loves you Daryl she is hopelessly in love with you, and you treated her like she meant nothing to you"
"I'm sorry she is hurting but she deserves better than me"
"I thought you were one amazing guy Daryl but at this moment you make me sick" Rick walked away, and Daryl turned looking over the land, but he knew Rick was right he hurt the only person that he had left in this world that seemed to truly care about him. He knew he should go to her but he knew if he lost her too it would hurt to much. He was a coward he knew if he let her in he would never let her go, and it scared him, but if he didn't tell her how he felt he truly was a coward, and he deserved to live a life of loneliness.
To be continued.

Great start to your new story Jessie. I LOVED the talk between Daryl and Rick in this chapter. Daryl needs to wake up and treat Carol better before it is too late and he loses her.

Chapter 2
Rick hoped Daryl would come to his senses but he didn't come back to the house. Rick could see him standing by the fence chopping some wood. Rick turned when Maggie said dinner was ready. He walked over putting some rice, and veggie down on the table, while Hershel cut the meat. They rarely had a big meal but it was Sunday, and Hershel insisted they have a good meal at least once a week, and he wanted everyone together. Carol normally asked about Daryl but she didn't even ask Rick where he was.
Judith started to cry, Carol got up but Rick could see Carol was tired, and needed to eat.
"Carol you sit, I will feed her"
"No that is my job"
"No I'm her Dad you have done enough you eat, I will feed her, and eat after she is fed"
Carol lifted Judith out of her playpen, and held her close.
"Let me do it Rick you eat"
"Carol give her to me"
Rick put his arms out for Judith she handed him Judith, but she burst out crying, and ran upstairs.
"Dad you hurt her". Carl yelled
"Have you all seen her when is the last time she ate, or slept she looks exhausted, I was trying to help her"
Maggie got up, "She is hurting Rick Judith gives her a reason to go on, we all have someone or someone to talk to , and love what does she really have"
"What she has all of us"? Rick said confused.
"Yes she does but she doesn't feel like she has anyone she told me". Beth said
"She told you that"
"She said she felt like the odd person out, she felt she had a bond with Daryl, and he broke her heart how could he". Beth ran up the stairs, and Hershel sat down, and Rick walked over handing Carl the baby as he walked upstairs. He walked to Carol's room, and knocked he opened the door when Carol told him to come in.
"Carol I'm sorry if I hurt you downstairs, I thought you eating was more important than taking care of Judith"
"I am fine don't worry about me". Beth put her hand on Carol's knee, and whispered. "We all love you Carol you are like my Mom"
Carol smiled, "Mom I feel old sweetie, but that is sweet"
"You are so beautiful, and kind, and Daryl is a fool pushing you away"
Carol wiped tears from her cheek, she reached over giving Beth a hug than she said.
"Go down, and eat with your Dad he loves his Sunday Dinners"
"Not if you are not joining us"
"I will come down in a few minutes run along sweetie". Beth got up, and walked out as Rick shut the door.
"Carol we need to talk"
"I'm fine Rick I'm just being a big baby"
"No you are upset, and I need you to know we all care about you. I owe you so much, and I know Lori would be so happy knowing my Baby girl has you as a role model. You are amazing with Judith, and we all would be lost without you"
"I love you all too, I just feel so sad". Carol started to cry, and Rick sat beside her, and held her tight, and said.
"Let it out Sweetie, I'm here for you".

Great update Jessie. I feel horrible for Carol in this chapter. Thank god Carol has Rick to take care of her and his daughter Judith. Daryl needs to wake up and realize what he has in Carol before it is too late.

Chapter 3
Carol finally composed herself, and told Rick she didn't want to eat right now, but later when she was feeling better she would. He smiled, and told her he would be watching to make sure she did. He gave her a kiss on the cheek, and got up, and walked to the door, and turned as she gave him a smile as he left the room. Rick walked downstairs everyone was sitting at the table, and Rick sat down after he lifted Judith in his lap, and told everyone to eat.
"What about Carol Dad"?
"She will eat later she needs to have some alone time, I will keep my eye out on her don't worry son"
"What about Daryl who is going to keep their eye out for him"?
"I have talked to him we can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do"
"So we leave him alone"
"He is part of this family, he will come around and when he does we will be here for him"
"I think he is a fool, but I love him like a Brother" Beth said as she started to eat. They all ate they all felt down when the door opened, and Daryl walked in shutting the door, and locking it.
Rick stood up, "Hey you came for dinner sit down I will grab you a plate"
"I will get it" Beth jumped up, but Daryl yelled.
"I'm not here for dinner I can feed myself, I came to make sure Carol is OK"
"No she isn't OK she is upstairs she is hurting" Beth yelled but Hershel told her to sit down.
"Dad he needs to hear this he hurt Carol"
"How did I hurt anyone I'm alone out their making sure you all are safe, and what thanks do I get"
Rick sat down, and laughed, "You really have a chip on your shoulder or you are blind"
"I'm going up, and make things right with Carol why isn't she eating with you all"
"She hasn't eaten much of anything recently because of you Daryl". Beth ran over to Daryl but she touched his arm, and said.
"Please don't hurt her she needs to know you care"
"I care Beth since when have you got a backbone girl"
"She is amazing, and if you are not going to be nice than stay away from her"
"I am not here to hurt her give me a plate of food, I will get her to eat"
Rick smiled, "Go up, and make things right she might throw it at you Bud"
"She wouldn't Carol isn't that way"
"Daryl go up, and make things right" Daryl put his bow, and arrow down, and walked upstairs, and walked to her room at the end of the hall. He opened the door not thinking to knock, and he found her laying on the bed facing away from the door. She looked like a child all curled up, and so tiny, and sad. Daryl felt horrible he shut the door, and walked around to the side of the bed looking down at Carol but he stopped , and he whispered.
"Oh Carol"
She was holding the doll he found of Sophia's. She still had tears covering her cheek, and she looked so lost, and pale. She was doing so well, and this was his doing the others were right he hurt her, and it was unforgivable. He turned to walk out when Carol opened her eyes, and whispered.
"Daryl is that you"?
"Yes I came to see how you were doing"
Carol sat up, and looked into Daryl's eyes as she said.
"I miss my friend"
"Carol I don't know how to be the type of friend you want"
"Daryl I have feelings for you that are so deep it hurts seeing you turn away from me. I would understand if you don't have those feelings for me but I need to know we will always be friends"
Daryl sat beside her, and put his head down as Carol reached over touching his face making him look at her.
"Carol you kept the doll all this time"
"Yes it is all I have of her, she loved this doll, and you found it, and brought it back to me"
"I wanted to bring you Sophia not this doll"
"Knowing you loved my daughter enough to go out everyday alone, and you almost died trying, I will never be able to pay you back for that"
"Carol I did it because I wanted to see you both together again, and happy now that Ed was gone"
Carol held the doll close as she started to cry, and Daryl wrapped his arms around her, and whispered.
"You will never be alone again you have me"

Great update Jessie. I am so happy that Rick, Beth, and Hershal put Daryl in his place and told him to patch things up with Carol. I am so glad that Carol and Daryl are on their way to patching things up.

I'm ending this story, I am really sad right now, and I feel like the love story of Daryl, and Carol will never happen. I know I am being silly but I just feel bad that a character we have loved for 4 years is being thrown into the background, and I have a feeling she will eventually get killed. I know this is a show about Walkers, and death but I can't help how I feel. Chapter 4 Carol and Daryl grew closer, and closer as the weeks went by. Carol never thought the day would happen but the day they made love was a day Carol would never forget as long as she lives. He was so tender , and sweet , and he made her feel so beautiful, and loved. She has never had that in her life. The only person she ever felt truly loved her was her Daughter Sophia, and now Daryl. She could die today, and she would die a happy lady because she has dreamed of this day for so long, and when he kissed her, and they made love it was like a dream that she never wanted to wake up from. She laid in his arms looking down at the man she loved with all her heart. She laid her head on his chest, and fell asleep never feeling more safe, and content, and she knew she would have many more nights like this because today was the day he told her he loved her. She was his girl, and that as long as he lived he would keep her safe, and she trusted him , and knew as long as they were together just maybe they would survive this nightmare they were living. She hated having to be safe, and fearing what tomorrow would bring but she knew one thing good that came out of this horror was she met the man she would love until the minute she took her last breath. The End

Jessie, I loved the ending you wrote to your awesome Carol and Daryl story. It really made me smile and gave me some hope. I hated to see your awesome Carol and Daryl story end but I understand completely why you had to end your Carol and Daryl story after tonights very sad episode of The Walking Dead. I HATED that every character that Rick told in tonights episode of The Walking Dead that he exiled Carol from the group that they supported his decision and that they said he the right thing exiling her becuase she killed and burned Karen and David to protect the group when everyone else back at the prison was doing the same thing plus they were killing the Walkers coming towards the prison through the prison fence. By the way, Jessie you are silly for wanting a romance between the Daryl and Carol in the midst of the all of the death. I wanted a romance between Carol and Daryl as well to lighten the mood around all of the death and the walkers surrounding the both of them.

Thanks Sanda I hated ending my story, but I thought it was best to end it here. I love Carol and Daryl but I am losing any hope there will be romance for them. The Governor comes back after 1 episode, and gets to make love how is that fair. lol
