Twisted...to be continued

Daryl just got done scouting Rick to make sure there wasn't any zombies around this area. The people apparently had left recently because there was a lot of non-expired food in the fridge. There was supplies of bottled water too. Whatever made these people leave, they were in quite a hurry. Carol was waiting outside the house and when he was in view she ran into his arms. Rick went to pick up his baby girl Judith from Shane. Shane looked upset about something, but he didn't care. Carol smiled at Daryl, running her fingers through his hair. Carol took his hand and they walked a few feet from the house.

“Daryl, can I trust you?” Carol's blue eyes pierced into his, begging for his trust. He put his hand on the side of her face. He looked into hers.

“Carol, of course you can. We're close enough friends to trust each other. At least I trust you.” Daryl looked away at the ground. “More than anybody else,even Rick.” As he whispered the last words, a tear fell from her face.

“Daryl, I like to think that I have gotten pretty close to you..I think I may even like you. I just don't know how you feel back.” Daryl pulled her face to his, a shy smile played on his face. He closed his eyes and short but very sweetly kissed Carol. When they pulled away, Carol's eyes were huge with extreme pleasure. “Well, we should probably get back. The others will be wondering where we went.” Carol flushed a deep pink. Daryl walked with Carol back to the house, holding hands. Rick and the others were inside, Shane was arguing with Rick. Rick just listened while Shane gradually got louder. Carol cleared her voice to make their presence known. Shane looked her way. Shane went white and cussed underneath his breath as he went outside, grabbing a gun.

“Shane! Where are you going?!” Rick demanded, grabbing Shane's arm. Shane shot Rick a dirty look.

“ I think I heard some zombies. If you want to keep everyone safe, let me check it out.” Something strange in Shane's voice made Rick let go. He stormed out, slamming the door shut. Carl walked in the living room. He looked at his dad questioningly.

“Dad, where did Shane go?” His eyes were half worried, half confused. Rick just shook his head.

“He thinks he heard zombies nearby. He's checking it out.” His voice was soft, but had the dad's tone that said no more questions. Carl went back to eating his Oatmeal cream pie, looking at the door for Shane's return. Carol went upstairs to see if they had running water upstairs. Daryl sat down in the recliner chair and turned on the TV. He turned it to the news, getting comfortable. He heard some shouting and gunshots. Daryl stood up and quickly went outside. A horrible feeling settled in his stomach as he saw blood and an awfully familiar person wounded.

Micheala, great start to your new Walking Dead story. Please do continue your awesome new Walking Dead story. :)I need to start watching this show. I have read lots of wonderful reviews about this show but I am too lazy to pick up another show to watch. LOL

Welcome to the site Michaela, your first story is a wonderful one. I love Carol, and Daryl, and I'm glad you are writing for them, and others from the show Walking Dead. Please continue this awesome story you have talent like your Mom.

Merle took in slow heavy breathes as he tried to hang on. Daryl ran to his brother, even though Merle was horrible to him.

“Merle! Hey, I’m going to help you. Hang on!” Daryl yelled for Rick. Rick came running and saw Daryl holding his wounded brother. Rick picked up Merle's legs while Daryl held on to Merle's arms. They took him inside and went upstairs. They put Merle on a soft bed. Daryl was shook up bad. Shane was still not back..Shane!!! Daryl heard Merle speak up.

“Daryl..Please..come here.” Daryl hurried and went beside the Merle's head. “ You need to find Shane. He..I don't know what he was doing. He saw me and I couldn't see what he had in his hands. He started shouting and next I know he goes and shoots me! Please...find him.” Merle closed his eyes and his breathing went ragged, and Rick told Daryl to go. Daryl went downstairs and grabbed a gun. Carol looked at Daryl, worried.

“Daryl, what's going on?” Her voice was filled with concern. He shook his head, Merle upstairs fueling his anger.

“I got to go find Shane.” He turned to go but Carol grabbed his hand.

“Come back?” Daryl looked at Carol, kissed her deeply, and then opened the door and slammed it shut. He ran in the direction the blood trailed. He looked around for Walkers and any sign Shane might have went. He was deep in the forest when he saw foot tracks. He walked slower, following the footprints. He heard a snap of branches and he stopped. He heard Shane's voice close but not close enough. Just enough to hear him.

“I knew you would come. I'm not surprised that Merle would tell you that I done it.” He laughed a harsh laugh. “You are so predictable. I was hoping you would. You want to know why? Everyone told me to get over Rick being back. But no one knows the real reason why. I saw how you and Carol looked at each other. But you drew the short end of the stick. You're not going back alive. I am going to tell them you got bit by a Walker, I had to kill you.” Daryl didn't hear Shane come closer. Shane had a gun to Daryl's head.

“So your going to kill me because of Carol?” Daryl laughed and then quit as soon as he felt the gun press into his head.

“You crossed me for the last time, Daryl.”

so suspenseful!! You are doing such a great job and I'm not just saying that. I can't wait to see what happens next. I love the romance between daryl and carol and that they are affectionate. I dont want anything bad to happen to merle even though hes not a nice guy. I think you did a great job with the dialogue and are on the way to a wonderful story! good job and thank you for writing this for me.

Great update oh don't let Daryl die Shane is out of control just like on the show. Please update again soon, I can't wait to see what will happen next.

A snap of branches on the ground made Shane look to see who it is. Now was Daryl's chance to escape!
Daryl grabbed Shane's arm and now Shane was in the defense.

“You see? That is why there is a difference between you and me. I don't let my guard down at all times. You do.” Daryl dragged a resistant Shane to the new house. Rick ran out and took Shane's gun. They took him to a shed and closed it tight, locking both doors tightly. They walked back up to the house. Carol noticed Daryl had blood running down his nose. He noticed Carol looking a little tense. Daryl hugged her tightly. He saw that everyone else was tense also.

“Daryl, Merle's been asking to see you. Please go see what he wants, he won't tell us. Said it was for you only.” Carol didn't look happy at all. He kissed her forehead and went upstairs. He walked into the room Merle was in. Merle sort of smiled, but not like he usually did.

“Daryl, thanks for coming. I have a shock for you..But first, did you find Shane?” He looked a little better but not much.

“He is in the shed.” Daryl felt tense all over now.

“I want you to do something. I don't want to demand it from you.” He looked apologetic. This was really unlike Merle. He wondered whether the gun wound changed him.

Great update Micheala. You write all of the different characters of this show very well. I checked out an episode of The Walking Dead tonight. I thought it was ok.

Daryl was wondering why would his brother would ask him politely. He was kind of nervous about agreeing to something.

“What do you mean?” Daryl hated to admit it but he was upset his brother was hurt. He just wanted to set Shane straight. Even though his brother was always kinda mean, he was still his only family he had he was related to. He wasn't going to let someone hurt his brother.

“I hated keeping a secret from you..But before...I couldn't admit this to anyone, especially you. We had a bad brother relationship. I want to make it right. I have a girl in my life I want to marry. She's also carrying my child. Can you please go get her if I tell you where she is?” Daryl was shocked. Merle had a girlfriend and a child on the way? Merle was going to be a dad and he was a uncle-to-be! Daryl couldn't find words to speak so he just nodded. Merle told him to go north of here for fifteen miles and when he finds twigs in shape of an X, go southwest and he will find her. Daryl promised his brother he would and told him to get some rest. As Daryl shut the door, Carol came to him. Her eyes weren't resentful or fearful, just expectant.

“I have to go. My brother wants me to find someone for him.” Daryl knew Carol would be waiting for him. Carol kissed him and hugged him tightly.

“Be safe, please.” She smiled softly, she was so beautiful when she smiled.

“Aw, I'll be fine. I take good care of myself.” He snorted, which broke the ice. She laughed hard then slowly stopped.

“Okay, okay. I just don't want you hurt. Come back as soon as you can.” Daryl kissed her and then went downstairs. He explained the same to Rick, and then walked to the north, where who knows what will happen.
