Chapter 13
Melinda and Carla finished eating, they walked out to their cars together. Carla said she would see Melinda at work later. They all waved goodbye, Melinda, and Max's drove home. He was so happy he was talking about Carla's kids, he liked them. They got home, and went inside, Max's was telling his Grandma about his new friends. Some of the stuff he was telling her made her Mom laugh.
"Melinda who's kids did he meet"?
"Carla's kids she works at the bar too. I met her at WalMart, she is pretty cool actually".
"Good Melinda you need to have friends"
"Thanks Mom are you calling me boring"
"No Sweetie, but you need to get out these dates might be good for you. I just want you to be careful, you know you are a romantic, this might be to much for you"
"Mom I hate the thought that I have to let 2 of the guys down"
"They are grown men they must know it might happen. You just do what is important for you, and pick the one that wins your heart remember that. "
"I will Mom, thanks for everything, I don't know what I would do without you"
"Well you have me sweetie, why don't you go have a bubble bath, I will watch TV with Max's"
"Sure that sounds great, I have to go to work in a couple of hours. I love my job but it is hard on your feet"
"Well it is lucky you can wear your running shoes at the bar, I couldn't stand waitressing with heels"
"Me heels Mom never".
"Run along, go pamper yourself". Melinda walked down the hall, and went into the bathroom. She filled the tub with her favorite bubble bath, and got in. The water was heavenly, she shut her eyes, but all she could think about was her dates. She smiled she knew this was going to be fun, but she also knew it would be hard to choose between three wonderful guys. She has been alone for years, and all of a sudden she is given a chance at love, but with 3 guys who would have thought. Melinda heard someone knock at her door, she smiled, "Max I will be out in a minute"
"No Melinda you won't believe who is on the phone". Melinda Mom opened the door, and smiled, "Who have you missed talking to for months, after she moved away".
"No way really"?
"She is in town, she said she is moving back to Boston, and she can't wait to see you"
"Is she on the phone"?
"Yeah"
"Bring me the phone" Her Mom went , and got the phone, and handed it to Melinda. "I will be with Max's".
"Jessie"
"Melinda long time no hear girlfriend"
"OMG I have so much to tell you, I'm mad at you, why haven't you called"?
"Hey girl why haven't you kept in touch. I have been busy, but I can't stand being away from my Mom, and my hometown, and my best friend."
'Who is your best friend"?
"You need to ask, what is up Melinda"?
"Well I have a new job, Max's is doing well"
"Oh I miss Max's, I miss watching movies with my Buddy"
"Oh man he will love when you come to visit. You spoil Max's though you can't do that"

"No I haven't changed, my luck has maybe I'm heading for some happy times"
"I hope so Melinda, see you tonight, I really missed you. I came back for my Mom, but don't tell her, I missed you just as much"
"I love you Jessie, see you tonight".
"Bye" Melinda hung up, she laid back, and smiled. She couldn't believe everything was going so well for her, she just hoped her luck doesn't change, because she deserves to be happy, and at the moment she couldn't be happier.
